512 on a budget

Just a quicky post about a little house that is perfect for prim savers and folks who have a Linden land allotment through Premium Membership.  Baby Monkey has this house for a promotional cost of L$ 25 for the next two weeks before it goes up to a whopping 50 L.  The house has a 13x30 footprint and is suited for a 512 lot.  It comes in 3 versions for one price: an unfurnished skybox of 38 prims, an unfurnished house of 44 prims and a furnished house of 107 prims.  The house is soft linked so that you can remove furniture (just remember the door is also soft linked so please rez in build-mode).  You can modify and add your own textures, too!

Today Has Been OK

Lovely new mesh top in the Midnight Mania in the Mesh Room at Baby Monkey (go upstairs).  It's already half way there today so get on over!  10 L boots right by the steps.  Some delicious jewelry at Sigma Jewels: Fist Pump Hunt and the Gacha Hunt (fun!).   We don't often discuss poses but I am using poses from one of the group gifts for Exposeur Gold.  There is a pretty steep fee to join (500 L) but right now there are 4 group gifts at Pose Fair and more at the store.  Pose packs now include both poses for men and women, which I think is ossum.

Butt, Sileny

I don't want poor Sil to feel that she is the only exhibitionist so I will help her out.  I also went to check out the cart sale at The Wash and I found a few things that I think make it worth the trip.  I am also going to be frank; there were a lot of things there that I personally think are best off being retired and I would love to see more new designers there that could benefit from the exposure.  Maybe I'm an old avatar and am jaded and/or I have too much stuff.  Everything in the sale is only 10L which is really cheap but there are some brands there that I can rely on to put out quality items and not the same items I have seen at other cart sales.  That being said, I will share some I found noteworthy and they were for all styles of avatars. 

I loved some of Hell Bop's items, particularly this little gingham blouse. It includes 3 clothing layers as well as prim cuffs and collar.  I generally hit the sale because I want to see what Bliensen + MaiTai has out and the cute Secret Diaries necklace had to come home with me.  The skin is a group gift from Aura,  Helena in the group exclusive Paper tone.  The group does have a join fee but the skin is still out in this and another tone as well as member exclusives throughout the store.

I had to change out of my normal avatar mode when I saw some items from The U-Neek and Bizarre hair.  Bizarre has a the rather amazing Secret Temple style that I loved.  The hair is color change and includes several tat-layer hairbases to complement it.  If you look closely you will see a Buddah hiding in the updo.  Treebee from The U-Neek has out what she calls her "wierdest" skin for super cheap at the sale. I kinda love it with its not so subtle bondage overtones. And knowing Treebee, she can get much wierder ;). The leggings are a separate item and come in several shades.  The grey was just too perfect. 

Heartsick has out skins for both men and women.  The skin includes all kinds of options: freckles, brow/no brow, cleavage as well as a shape (not shown), alpha layers, teeth, and a bewb bouncer (hooray) so it's an amazing value.  Erotique Designs has out some cute pink lingerie, that include stockings.  I preferred to show Baby Monkey's cute Bandana Boots in pink.  They have color change options for the metals and the bandanas as well as a resizer and volume control (so you can turn them off whenever I am nearby). Bliensen + MaiTai's Bon Bon earrings in pink complete the look.

The Millenium Hunt Starts Tonight

Oh hey!  I'm finally settling back in from a very hectic holiday season and collected a few things to share.  FTLO's Millenium Hunt begins at Midnight SLT tonight, January 5th.  The organizer, Rhed Rhode,  has kindly gave me the scoop and there are a few things to keep in mind.  There is no store list for this hunt it's like a scavenger hunt (like hunts used to be).  The hunt begins at Pestle & Twig at 12 PM SLT 1/5/12.  There is NO hunt object.  The item will be hidden inside a regular store vender that has been marked 1 L.  The item is supposed to be within 30 m of the landing point and store owners have been asked to not have anything else marked 1 L during the hunt (so they will be like 0 or 2 L).  So its like a hidden dollarbie with a free extra gift inside!  I did find a few items already.  Another really great deal that my lovely ex-wife, Whisper Despres, told me about, are some items marked for 50 L at The Secret Store.  The Secret Store is one of my favorite stores and it appears that these are holiday specials as the items are red, green or white/creme.  However, most of them are regular items at steep discounts, so you might want to visit before these are gone.  Last on my list are the recent daily specials at Baby Monkey.  The owner, Pixieplumb Flanagan goes on these release sprees and has begun offering them at significant savings.  I picked up the zebra pumps for only 50 L and they are color change so it's a great deal. There are also cheetah pumps and some boots right now; I think the boots are only 25 L.

My Favorite Holiday "Stuff"

Most of my blogging time is spent on wearable items.  But without all the amazing "stuff" in SL, it would be as boring at the platform where I spend most of my SL time.  Lots of awesome creators of home items, animations and other things that make SL fun have jumped on the holiday bandwagon by either participating in hunts, advent calendars, 12 days of Christmas, and other ways and I wanted to take the time to feature some of my favorites.  This is in no way an exhaustive list but a few I found worth the trips around the grid.

I would be completely remiss if I didn't start with FD Decor.  My friend, Fallacy DeCuir, has her entire sim decked out with holiday goodies.  I swear it has more stuff than Bronner's Christmas Wonderland in Frankenmuth, Michigan, which is a place my grandparents lived near when I was a child and once caused my then 5 year old son to have his first anxiety attack, which he remembers to this day as "chest".  If any of you know Fallacy, she tries to make off as if she is some scary mean girl but I think she is a doll and anyone that makes little flowers with happy faces definitely has a bark worse than her bite.  You have to go there if only to see her sim.  When you get over the shock and find the main store, you will find several lucky chairs and lucky presents with awesome prizes.  She also has a log cabin in the Midnight Mania as well as participating in several hunts.

Next is C&D Designs.  Lovely Cherelle Capra, sister of Helena Stringer, fellow Free*Styler and maker of wild hair (we miss her terribly), has been creating for as long as I can remember.  Cher frequently sends out gifts to her subscriber groups (supposedly a big one is coming as soon as tomorrow).  She also has some spectacular items out in hunts right now.  The two builds in the collage are hunt items.  She also is participating in Royal Living's Snowman Hunt, which ends on the 15th.  Those items cost 45 L each but are huge gifts worth hundreds more.  I apologize for forgetting to take a photo.  Cher also has an advent calendar at her store for members of her inworld group.  The cost of each of those items is 1 - 10 L.  The group is free to join now until 12/24.  The group will have a fee after that and an extra special gift is planned for December 25 so get in now if you have the space.

Lots of bloggers have been showing items for the With Love Hunt.  It is one of my favorite hunts right now and I will easily shell out 10 L for such high quality items.  This includes a sample of some of the non-avatar items, though I did want to also mention Adorkable and Status, who have really nice pose packs in the hunt.

Page Eames from LaFlat gave me permission to use her and Plurabelle Laszlo of Bliensen&MaiTai's ad texture for their 12 days of Christmas event which began today.  The two designers will provide free gifts for the next 12 days at their adjoining shops.  I adore these two women and highly recommend the visit.

A new place to me, Dirty Little Secret, has a in-store hunt going on through the 25th with 10 prizes to find.  I am showing one, the tree stump lounger, but there are others from furniture to cuffs/collars.  They are hidden in the store and enclosed area as well as the skybox store.

Baby Monkey's 12 days of Christmas begins tomorrow with this gift.  Yeah, this stuff is wearable but this is always a very popular event and includes shoes and accessories.  It is free to everyone.  The group is currently closed to new members as there is a big celebration but make sure to check out the numerous lucky boards, the midnight mania as well as super-cheap (like 10 L) cute shoes during your visit.  You can find the item hidden in one of the ornaments on the tree.  Pixieplumb Flanagan has told me she will keep each gift up for a few days in order to give more people a chance to get them.  A new gift will be added daily.

Other places I've really enjoyed this holiday season have been the Advent Calendar at KittyCats, which Sileny mentioned in a previous post.  All items are free and I was able to get past gifts which I had missed, which was a really nice feature.   Also, Sway's, as in previous years has a fantastic advent calendar.  Her's are a bit challenging because you have to go find the hints but it has definitely been worth it.  Zacca and nonino have joined in this year and made it really special.  Adorkable has also been giving out a free pose every day during the holiday season and there are still several more to pick up.  She is also participating in the With Love and POE hunts so she is offering an insane amount of free poses right now.

All these designers have put in countless hours at little to no compensation to provide us with wonderful gifts.  When I think about where to spend my lindens, I feel it's important to support folks like the people I've written about above.  Give back if you can!

I recently had the pleasure of chatting with Annabelle Couturier the designer and owner of Cannibelle.  She is a sweetheart and makes lovely lingerie and tattoos.  What really impresses me about her work is that she her items have not only all clothing layers but include a tattoo layer so the items are so versatile.  The sets shown here are available for Black Friday for only 20 L each.  There is another set, Kitty, that is a cute retro look as well as the Efa tattoo, which I completely forgot to shoot in my post Thanksgiving daze, that are also available for 20 L. Claudine and Kitty will not be sold after this event, which ends Sunday at Midnight SLT.  Agnes will be unavailable in black as of Monday and the Efa tattoo will be full price as of Monday.

Sileny TP'd me to December to nab these awesome unisex retro frames off the lucky board.  I really fell in love with December after picking up her items at our 444 event and these are some of the best version of this style that I've seen in SL.  You must be a member to win the glasses but the group is free to join.  Sileny is still waiting for an S so pop over there after you get the goodies at Cannibelle and help her out!

Halloween Comes to Starlust!

I almost hate to post on top of Sileny's post today because she looks so darn cute but I think you will really like the things I am going to show you!  My love for Starlust and the folks that inhabit it is no secret.  They were generous to host our 4.44.444 event at no cost and I think that the people that set up there are super talented, straight up real folk and work hard to create original designs.  I wanna be a polygamous partnerer and marry them all to be honest but probably not even Appy from Pig would take me up on it.

Here is the deal there: Through Halloween start at the motel lobby and pick up a folder that will tell you who has treats at their shops.  (Not every store is involved - Eden bawls her face off)  The folder will contain a note that has an up to date list of treated stores as well as a cute map to help you find your way about.  Those stores will have a pumpkin near or right in the entrance with a bright orange pumpkin that has a message along the lines of "I have a treat for you".  Touch it and get the goods - it's that easy!  Allegory has decorated the sims with lots of pumpkins (she makes some of the best around) and they are for sale (go to Schadenfreude for a huge selection), so don't confuse them with the treat pumpkins.

Also, Schadenfreude has her annual trick or treat pumpkin at her store.  Go inside the elephant and look for the free one.  Allegory makes these goodies for many of the holidays and I look forward to them every year.  They are wearable and give out treats to anyone who touches them.

I've not shown you every gift because I have to go do a ton of RL things but its a lovely event.  Before I forget all about it, Nefaria Abel, another awesome creator has decided to close her L'Abel brand, another sad for me!  Everything has been significantly discounted.  I picked up some bloomers from this year's summer collection that I had been coveting for only 10 L.  Another do not miss!

Sileny lies! Bright colors are not over. Bodyline group gift skin

Bodyline released a new beautiful skin called Uzuri and sent a special gift skin to the group. It comes in teeth and regular versions. Join Bodyline - updates (200L join fee) and check notices. There's also another skin that will disappear from notices after tomorrow!

I know that you all have been seeing pink and red everywhere now, but I have more to share. I want to share some cute cheapies with you that end/disappear tomorrow (so tomorrow should be the last day to get it).

Existence sim is having a event where Piddle, SMP, Miseria, Kozmetika, and BOOM have sale prices on most items marked with a pink or red balloon, and/or just pink or red (it varies on the store). Anyway, there is also carts of items on sale of pre-releases or exclusives for those stores. I'm wearing BOOM set that is only 50L! (also comes with strings not worn and another bra + another pair of shorts, a dress)

See that little kiss on my boob and my cute nails with a heart on it? They are from RezIpsa Loc The nails come in a pack of several different kinds for 50L (for all 10). As for the kisses, there's 10 in total (red and pink, and various spots) as well, and you can play a gatcha for 5L per play, or buy the fatpack for 50L.

Finally, I know you are wanting to know where my cute shoes are from! They are a prelease from Willow that is only 60L for today and tomorrow in this color only! I write way too much, sorry.

R.icielli Deluxe Hunt

First off, I just want to welcome Ashe Anthony to Free*Style. I would be squeeing in the comment box but since we don't have them I will squee here: SQUEE!  The purpose of this post is to show some of the items I love from the R.icielli 2nd Deluxe Hunt. Happy Kyoot Year!

Kyoot has recolored one of my favorite dresses and is offering it at a New Years gift.  The gift also includes a nice black sequined vest.  My skin is the lovely Precious skin in Christmas Yule makeup, which is a group gift.  Now nothing about this skin made me want to start saying "Ho Ho Ho" (though other things do).  Its a great year-round skin and I do like the base shades.  Also, before it ends RezIpsa has an amazing clearance sale on a lot of hair and clothing.  My favorite style of Rezzie's work is Eliza and I was able to pick up a version with snowflakes for cheap!

Poor Little Match Girl

I've picked up so many freebies lately that I don't even know where to start.  So instead of showing you things that have probably already been blogged by many other "freebie" blogs, I want to show you a fantastic cheapie.  RibboN has been knocking out the most fantastic inexpensive items lately and this dress was released today.  The ReToRo Blouse comes in 3 different textures.  The others are pretty florals but I was all over the newsprint version.  Best of all it is only 35 L.  Bang up bargain for something this cute and funky.

If you haven't been to the Spring Bazaar yet, you need to add it to your hit list.  There are numerous designers represented.  Off the top of my head: Sanu, Scribble, Nushru, WhoNose, Ripe, Mango Mango, Tyranny, Touche', astaraia, Adore & Abhor and the list goes on.  Nothing at the event is over 50 L and there is also a hunt with eggs hidden about for only 1 L.  A few of my favorites:

Rio deJaneiro: The F*S Guide to the RFL Clothing Fair

Lots of great finds on the Rio sim.  I picked up lots of gifts there, though I did my shopping on preview day and not all the stores were completely set up so you might find more gifts.  Unless the price is noted expect them to be either free or 1 L.  All clothing slurls will be for the fair locations and not the main stores.  You will land at a central landing point but a red arrow should point your way.

I spent a small fortune at the Fair and by the time I got to Rio I was exhausted!  One of the RFL items I picked up there was Mystic Sky's Resa. It holds special meaning to designer Skyler John as her friend's mother recently passed away from cancer.  The dress is a delicious cornflower blue and perfect for any fae or a pretend fairy like me.
