The title says Heart shaped grape why you wonder? well, I'm wearing my heart tattoo under this stunning necklace named Uva (grapes). Silly I know but it works. Anyway, I hope you enjoy!

Hair Fair Gift Tour: Chapter 1

Greetings from Hair Fair!!! Hair Fair is all about new hair and new hair only!  This year is really special as all hair are donation items, which means that at least 15% of proceeds will benefit Wigs For Kids, though I saw many designers donating up to 50% of the purchase price to charity.  Wigs For Kids has been the charity cause for a few years now and it's purpose is to provide hair replacement for children who have lost their own hair due to chemotherapy, alopecia, burns and other medical conditions.  The official website for Hair Fair '11 is an invaluable resource as it has slurls for all designers and as well as an exhaustive list of suggestions to make the trip more enjoyable and a lot less laggy.   The sims were designed and built this year by the Hair Fair Committee, a dedicated group of folks who have been doing this for years, so they know what does and doesn't work.  It's a beach theme (think The Deck ;) and if you stay on the path you will eventually hit every booth at the fair.

My Free*Style posts are going to show some of my favorite gifts from Hair Fair '11. It isn't an exhaustive showing of everything there; I wasn't crazy about all the gifts and Hair Fair is not about gifts...it's about charity and new hair.  In spite of that there are at least 60 gifts at Hair Fair that are free or 1 L, which is a WOW that deserves a big thank you to the generosity of so many talented designers. Lots more on Sim 1 to find and worth grabbing!

I totally dug this hair gift from Gauze. Gauze has 2 fun, funky styles in their gift as well as this separate hair ornament. Toast Bard of fashionably dead gave this great purple leopard body suit as well as the necklace and earrings AND sunglasses of awesomeness.  I paired them with some denim gauchos from Mocha that are on sale this week. I've been eyeballing these for awhile and was amazed when they weren't already in my inventory and forgotten (but we won't talk about my inventory).

LeLutka had my top gift hairstyle this year.  It's called Pinned and is a wonderful fatpack that shows roots that are so popular this year. It reminds me some of a tamed down version of Rykiel, that is hard to remove from my head.  The barrette is not color change but if you have some texturing talent the hair is mod so you can make changes as needed to this accessory.  The skirt outfit is from pr!tty who also has some great hair feather headbands and accessories, which didn't work with this hair but are awesome!  The cuffs and collar are part of a very large gift from !DERP.

I love great looking retro hair and Pocket Mirrors has an awesome cut in Melinda.  It comes in two colors.  I usually am a blonde in SL but for some reason I seem to prefer dark colors when it comes to retro styles.  The lovely hair bow is a gift from Donna Flora.  It is impeccably textured and detailed with lovely filigree gold detail wrapping the pearls. It's truly a sensational little piece.

Megan: YS&YS group gift

Your Skin & Your Shape has a new group gift and it has been worth the wait.  Megan is a lovely skin with a soft glow to the face.  The group is free to join which seems to be a rarer thing to find these days.  This adorable dress is from X*plosion and it is from the Depraved Summer Nights Hunt.  It comes in two versions (one without flowers) as well as a black bra layer (or you can go without the bra for a clean line).  This was my first visit to this store and I really liked it.  When you visit make sure to visit the discount area where there are boxes with tons of freebies from eyes to skins to clothing.  Thank you to both designers for their kind generosity.

It's a cute store and this is like the second freebie I've picked up from there recently, so she is generous, too! Thanks again!

Christmas is Coming... the Cat is Getting Fat

We sing that song on the holidays because our cat is so fat we say we are going to cook him for Christmas dinner and I was at a loss of a name for the post...so.  Dear, sweet Fallacy DeCuir of FD Decor has so many wonderful things that you can get for free that will get your place completely in the holiday mood. I dressed up my avatar (you have to be matchy for the holidays) with some freebies from Blacklace, Baby Monkey and Mayden Couture.  Before I forget, FD Decor is also having a huge sale until the end of the year.   She will be adding prefab buildings to her line so she needs lots of room for prims.  Discounts are steep.

Wear Gray!

The Wear Gray for a Day event began this past weekend and runs until September 5.  At the Wear Grey Market Faire is a plethora of goodies available from many SL designers, with at least a portion benefitting the American Brain Tumor Association.  There are also daily auctions and you can see what is available daily at the official Wear Grey blog.  For us frugalistas there is also a hunt.  Each item is only 20L and all proceeds benefit ABTA.  I heard a rumor that some people were complaining about the cost of the hunt items but seriously, guys, we are talking brain cancer here!

I also wanted to mention a great freebie at Adam n Eve.  There are free painted lashes!  These are a tattoo layer that you can use with the SL 2. or many alternative viewers.  If adjusting prim lashes is irritating, this is a fantastic solution...and they don't look like blobs in high lag locations.  There are other amazing makeups.  My favorite it one that turns your skin tone green, perfect for Halloween parties!

KDC Mall Opening

KDC Mall for hair opened today and there are oodles of free hairs available.  There are 3 lucky boards throughout the building as well, none of which I managed to win because other E's had the nerve to be there before me and I won't steal other folk's wins!  There are styles and hair colors here that are exclusive to the mall so if you are a hair ho like me you will love it here.  I cannot show all the free hairs or it would take over the blog so here is a sampling.  A quick note, the hairs from Zeus required a group tag to get but there is a set of dreads (which I didn't show that are fantastic - and good for the guys too).  The poses I'm using are from the HeadShot set at Glitterati...wonderful poses for closeups! Not free but worth every penny!

I needed a good excuse to tell you that Cupcakes has dropped their join fee for one week.  This began on Sunday so you still have several days to get in.  Rosemary Galbraith and Mimi Coral did not fail me and they never do.  I absolutely love their skin and show it quite often.  They just gave the group some hilarious drunken and hungover skin, which I'm showing you below.  Since you can join for free for a week, head over to Maitreya, where there is a pre-release sale of the new Sasha hair for only 50 L each.  All proceeds benefit Red Cross efforts to provide assistance to victims of the Haitian Earthquake so you can look fab and do good.  This is definitely a hair that many men could pull off too!
