Creating a petite with a style of it's own is surprisingly easy. People assume that because we all have the same mesh and same shape, we would all look alike, which is not the case.

We may have to become expert modders, or even designers ourselves, when trying to complete the perfect item to complete the perfect outfit.

In the end, we still retain our own unique identities, and are as varied as a rainbow.



This outfit came about due to the nails and the hair. I was recently given the task to help blog some new petites designers, or well, designers new to making petites items.

These nails are not free, but Kathrin Dassin of Moondance does have several other hunt gifts out(one of which was just blogged). She makes items for both men and women, and has just started to make nails for the petites now too.

I normally don't blog my own stuff, due to feeling rather tacky about it, but this hair is at the retro swap meet, which is ending tonight. It comes in petites and biggie sizes, and is unisex.



The horns are from my new horn shop, Lemon Tea. They are currently in the luckyboard. They are unrigged mesh, which I sized them down and tinted to match my outfit.

Today is the last day of the Retro Swap Meet being held on The Wash Sim. The event has gone over very well, I just sadly had a lot of RL to deal with lately, so I only manage to get the time to tell you about it today, the last day.

StashBash Fairy Haze

Someone in the Petites group chat wanted some help searching for a promo item earlier this week, and I thought, hey why not, I like free stuff!

Finding the item ended up inspiring the whole outfit you see today. I decided right then and there I just needed a mini mermaid for my petite avi. So thanks to Ketu, the designer of Shimmer, for putting this item on offer. It's expensive starting up a totally new avatar, and every little promotional item helps!

Curious Kitties made this awesome dress for the hunt. You obviously can't see it here, but the mesh of the dress is scripted to colour change, it also is animated, so the circles get all trippy on you. Since the dress has a built in skin piece in the chest area, you get a whole set of skins, and have a skin matching hud to change the skin texture on the dress. Any of the Curious Kitties skins of the same line will work with this dress.

This is another gift you just have to see inworld. I actually thought something was wrong with my sl viewer. Cutea of Grim. Bros. made this wearable couch. You put it on, and it starts guttering all over. It really is trippy. The movements of the avi make me laugh too. It's slight, but is fitting.

I was checking out one of the petites stores on my weekly shopping rounds today, when a C came up on the Lucky Board. I asked my sis if she wanted it, and then tp'd her over. 3 letter changes over, and H came up. What luck! These things normally hate me, and I have to go sit by them on sorting day, just hoping to get SOMETHING.

Tragic Beauty is the name of the store that is offering a 4 pack of corset for petites this week. I decided to wear the black one. There is also a rust, pink and a green, with each a little different.

I have noticed they change their Lucky Board and MM Board often, so if you have a petite, it is worth it to go check on the store every once in a while.

Fashion for you House

'Cause they need lubbin' too!

At FreeStyle we have always been about a good deal, and often times gravitate towards the fashion that is created inworld. Everyone needs clothing(well, for the most part), but not everyone has a place to call their own.

I could say the same for myself, always opting to put extra prims in the store, over having a place for my own. This was why my store has been many things over the years, as I decorate it instead of a house. It was once a big jewelry box! That was my fav, hehe.

I did however grab myself a linden home, when they were first hitting the grid. I had an extra 512 after my purchase of my Lyashko plot, so why not, eh?

Alas, even then I was a bad home owner, and didn't really do much. I had a stack of books I could sit on, and a trunk that took up most of my prims, because I thought it was beautiful!

Well finally I have a few things shoved in there, and here is what I have to show you today!



This is the Depraved Spring Madness Hunt gift from [CIRCA]. It fit into this space perfect, and off camera is another one seater that matches. Cherelle Capra, the designer of [CIRCA], is being kind enough to leave this out an extra day(as the hunt ended on the 15th). I was having issues with SL all weekend, and didn't manage to get any of my posts up in a timely fashion.

This you will find at The Nest, as a gift from [CIRCA]. I love it. I have always gravitated towards red and green things in sl(not together, I'm not Xmas all year round!). The plants are a nice vibrant colour, perfect thing to welcome people at my door, besides my boots.



I place this little birdhouse right above my little basket, beside my door. When I tp to my plot, I always end up behind the house, so I figured I'd never disturb the little bird living there. Yes it has a fall leaf, yes it is spring, but I LOVE fall! I have been snagging fall goodies of the Marketplace, maybe I will do a Halloween/Fall post in may, just to bugger with you all.

This was another gift at The Nest, by [CIRCA], again.

Not Mine, but my Mer Don't Care!

As a hair designer, I have always found it in bad taste for my avi to wear other hair designer's designs. This isn't to say that other hairs are inferior to my own designs, but I do it more as a business ethic. Now I do have a few alts, and I do enjoy buy hair for them. 

 I broke my rule today for the first time in many years(Helena obviously did wear other hairs before she started making them herself). This design was made my my sister, Cherelle Capra, of [CIRCA], formerly C&D Designs. Treebee, of The U-Neek, sort of bulldozed her right into the Crazy Hair Hunt, when trying to contact me IRL. 

Anyways, enough of that, on with the hair! 

Cherelle has helped me in the past, making accessories for my own designs, as I enjoy putting things in my hairs, so it isn't any wonder that she has filled hers chalk full of goodness. With the theme Flora/Fauna it isn't any wonder that the grind is seeing swimming mermaids rushing around collection these hairs. I was lucky enough to not have to go searching for it, nabbing it off my sis, and donning my own fins for take this inworld shot. 

 The Crazy Hair Hunt 3 is going on until the end of the month, with many great, unique styles, it will be sure to fill up your inventories, and hopefully your imaginations, bringing out your own hidden couture fashionista.

Learning Mesh the Petite Way

My wonderful RL sister(Cherelle Capra of [CIRCA]) gifted me this petite avatar upon my arrival to the new sl. It was a big and scary concept to me, mesh hitting the grid, and how it would effect my store, but alas, this little creature made me feel a bit better.

With so few designer making things for these little mesh avatars, it wouldn't easy to make up a post on them, or so I had thought. Luckily I was pleasantly surprised, and did find enough things to clog up FreeStyle for a little bit, with all the epic tiny person cuteness!

The dress is from Evie's Closet. As with all her work, it is wonderfully crafted, the only issue being that the prim sleeve pop off when I have my hands on, and a girl needs her hands to do stuff, you know? In the pic below you will see the puff sleeve, with a handless(though you can't see) Helena. These little avis have a skin tint hud, which I had a tonne of fun with to get the right look for this set of shots.

The little mouth heart noms is a little gift from Heartistic. Little balls of light poof out of the noms, whih give you an even more mystical feeling while finding a flowerpot to live in.

DV8 also has joined the Petites bandwagon, and put out a bunch of outfits this week. Vasha was ever so kind as to make a gift, which are the bracelets I am wearing.

Last but not least is my fav find. I LOOOOOOOOOOVE eyes, so when I saw these I was so happy to have something easily accessible for my lil new me. You get 3 different colours in this generous gift from Painfully Divine. Each one went with the outfit, but I love the gold the best.

Fall into Spring

I recently came back to SL after a year away. After finishing up with my creation for the Crazy Hair Hunt 3, I naturally wanted to shop, and see what was new out there. I was one of those desiners who hadn't updated to V2 yet, so I was still on 1.23 when I left. There was a lot of catching up to do!

What prompted me to want to do up a post was a notice from IM CaPPed. The Designer/Owner, Victoria Bazylinski, has a Rez Day coming up, and she has decided to put out some celebration deals for us all. She has all hats marked down, two are offered for free(one of which I am wearing here), and all the eyes in the TealMeMore shade are only L$13.

I went on a search for anything to go with the orange hat, but ended up with a bunch of fall like colours to mix together instead. I don't get to wear hats often, as most of my hairs are too over the top to fit one on well enough. Can't cram one on a mohawk, that is for sure!

A Little about Rad Minds Inc.

Quoted straight from the group notecard:

RMI is a group that is dedicated to supporting and promoting quality alternative designers here in Second Life. The group is not limited to one style, but rather embraces all styles that are off the beaten path. From the slightly odd to the most extreme, Rad has it all.

My goals for Rad are to succeed where other groups have, in my opinion, failed. There are plenty of fashion groups out there, but it seems they get over run with designers of low quality and/or members who are looking for handouts. Also, many of the these groups are either too focused on certain styles, or not focused enough, so I am trying to find a middle ground. Because of these issues, many good designers, old and new, get overlooked. This is something I want to change and is why I started this group.

My hope for Rad is to support quality designers of many types and to offer group members exclusive gifts, hunts, sales, etc.. There is no fee for getting into the group, but designers may set gifts out for group members only and charge 10-20L instead of for free. This helps the designers, as well as the group, by keeping out the people who pop in and out of groups just to get free stuff.

I mentioned exclusive gifts, hunts, sales and more. In this group you will receive gifts from the designers at their discretion. Any hunts and/or events that are organized will not be free, but rather cost a small fee per item (10L-50L). This is to further support the designers and keep from breaking your linden wallets while giving you access to quality items.

If you are looking for quality alternative items and like to support their designers, then Rad would be a great group for you.

A Different Sort of Ship

I'm normally off on a different sort of ship. You know, the kind that goes around space? but that is another tale to tell.

This one is of Pirate Helena!


It's not often a woman of my caliber crashes anything. Specially a ship, but it does happen from time to time, normally after a few centuries of boredom.

What you need when you decide to do something like this is a hot little outfit to win over the locals!

Too bad where I decided to crash it was home of foot tall furry critters all running around and fishing. Still to this day this world amazes me. Wonder if they would be yummy to eat? *ponders*


To appease the denizens of your new home, you must have something on your body. Deviance is the place for costumes of all sorts, and there is more then a few in the Lucky Cupcake(Like this Pirate Costume, previously blogged a year ago in the pink version) and some others in the Lucky Chair. Surreal makes wonderful garments that are constantly on this blog, she is generous, talented, and a dreamer at heart.

Next to be a real pirate you need your eyepatch. Do you really NEED one? NO. Do you really WANT one? Yes!

But why go normal, go all out! This eyepatch is a special gift from Actuate Eden to celebrate their new store. Thank the gods it wasn't pink, I'd have cried!

We have all heard that Phoenix Rising is leaving sl and has a big ass L$100 sale going on. What you all might not have known was in July Ashoka place some discontinuation stuff out way way in the back of her store. Some of it is still out, and it is priced between L$1-L$15.

I recently stumbled across a little shop called Into the Hallow while on a different sort of adventure. Now Dame Hallow has a generous heart, and even tho new to our SL world, she is more then generous. The other awesome this is her items are quality items. She enjoyed the post I did on my own blog so much, and a few others from bloggers on the grid, that she made a special Blog-tastic gift(the dress above is part of this gift)! It is for her group members only, but the group is free to join. It seems with each notice(and the come frequently) she has her new releases, but also switches up her lucky chair and MM board. She not only has the MM board and Lucky Chair, but just put up a Gacha that has some really awesome Hats. You can see them on her Flickr HERE!


Also part of the Blog-tastic Gift is this lil nose moth. In the store you will also find a package of eyes as a gift. I'm wearing the one eye here, This Broken Lens eye in Sepia Dark.


You can also get this super cute Hat in the inworld update group, just click her joiner near the Lucky Chair to get an invite. I'm also wearing the other version of the This Broken Lens eyes. The backgrounds shown all thru the post are also a gift at the store, I did change the colouring a bit on this one, but the pack comes with 6 dark themed colourings. They were gift wrap textures, but I sort of thought I could get away blogging with them =)

Now part of the reason I found Into the Hallow was because of a new group for fans of Horror/Macabre. It's called Woeful Wednesdays. It will eventually comprise of 40 designers, each bring you a design every wednesday with the darker themes in mind. These items will be set for only L$50.

The Stringer Mausoleum is in this event, and I have to say, The Stringer is very happy about it! Here is what I made for the event. This will be a special edition, a "Tamer" version will be going into the store. It also is a preview of my new 2010 hair textures. I'll have next to the vendor L$1 pack of wearable tester hairs, so you can see the texture before you buy it. What is a wearable tester hair? Regular hair actually, no signs, copy/mod. It's just the way I do my testers, so enjoy!
