Love Wins

Join the Adam n Eve Sachi Vixen Update Group for only 10 L and get this stunning skin as a group gift.  The skin WAS sent to current subscriber members but it is not redeliverable.  If you missed it or are trying anew, the 10 L fee is a pittance for something this lovely.  I've seen a lot of heart-lippy skins and I can hands-down say this is the best I've seen and I am very fussy.  The hair is a group gift from Red Mint and I've barely taken it off since I got it.  I had to join the Blacklace group for 99 L and get the sexy pink dress because it was just so matchy!

On a serious note, Chic Management is returning to it's roots with the Back to Black event that begins Saturday, February 11th through February 29th.  The event focuses on Mental Health awareness and you can find information regarding participating brands and location at the Chic Mgt site.  Mental illness and other neurological disorders affect millions yet stigma continues to cause tremendous damage, not only through shame and silence, but keeps people from seeking or continuing treatment as well as face discrimination.  I'm not ready to come out on all feeds about my own personal and professional experiences with mental illness but the impact is real.  Good medicine includes awareness.

Blah and Drowsy

Much happiness abounds in Edenland upon learning that Bettiepage Voyager has reopened the Drowsy sim and there are gifties! I first read it here at YukaChoco Magic's adorable blog and I squeed at a few friends and TP'd right over.  Here is the skinny on the amazing goodies:  They aren't just sitting out for you to grab.  You are going to have to work for them but anyone I know that knows about BP agrees she is genius and the redesigned sim is a wonder to explore.  You are going to be looking for 8 old leather boxes.  The first one is near where you tp in so you can see what you are looking for.  Drowsy is no-fly so you get to hike around - I ended up under bridges and in caverns but Marleen Vaughn and I divided the search and that made it easier and a lot more fun.  (You can TP each other.)

I ran into Weronika while out and about yesterday and promised her she would be the first to blog the next thing but I also got a notice from Blah about new group gifts and lucky boards so I went to check it out, so I guess I'm a liar, too.  The VIP group is 100 L to join but within a matter of minutes I had scored some new group gift lingerie, a subscriber gift and 2 items from the group only lucky board.  There are also 2 boards for non-members with exclusive items as well as gifts for the non-pay group and subscribers, so I am quite impressed with hOShi Kimono's generosity with customers (and everything comes in tat layers for more bonus!).  All in all, not too bad of a day!  I'm sure with a new month of hunts and the upcoming holiday of luv (hurls), we will be seeing a lot of pink and red.  Bring it.

An Echo brings mesh

Corny title, I know. Anyway, [Echo] has a new group gift in store that is mesh! I am amazed since this is a new shop. It is a cute pencil skirt that comes with a bow that you can add to it. The bow is not mesh though, just the skirt is. With that being said, I decided to show how it looks with the added bow and also how it looks without it too. I've been a shy fangirl of Katx Kirax of Bingo for quite a while now.  She has never had a huge store but she always injects her items with a sense of humor that I appreciate.  She recently released a sweet, little dollarbie that includes a cotton candy striped t-shirt, colorful nail polish, 2 face tattoos (1 tint-able) and a pose (not shown).  Then to top it all off she TP'ed me to Love Soul, where I won this adorable hair that was recently added to their lucky chairs, which perfectly compliments her tats. I had been trying to win it to no avail; it comes in 4 different color packs and are split between the chair in the main store and the one behind the food store.  I added the latest group gift from Pididdle, the envelope necklace, which I seriously need in RL to attach permanently to my son who is forgetting half the things he should bring home from school. Sileny lies! Bright colors are not over. I am a fanatic stickler about no white shoes after Labor Day but today I'm siding with good old Nicki Minaj as covered by my second favorite ANTM judge, Andre Leon Talley, on Vogue Daily and continuing the pre-fall color show.  Heaven knows I can shop with the best of them (ask my friends) but today I found so many inexpensive goodies from some of my favorite designers!

Deal Me In

There is an insanely easy hunt over at LeeZu for group members.  The group is free to join and the hunt took me at the most an enjoyable hour to find 12 playing cards.  The details on how to do the hunt are in group notices but essentially you collect the cards from different areas of the store and then turn them in to redeem one of 4 fantastic prizes.  You can chose from the Miriam or Virage dress, Robin Jeans or like I did, the Margo jacket shown above.  I've been drooling over this jacket since it was released and it is impeccable.  LeeZu took the time to add really special details such as the shadowing effect on the chest straps which makes it especially realistic.  I am beyond impressed by this piece.  At the end of the hunt one lucky winner will also receive a Grand Prize of 5000 Ls and 2 items from the NOIR collection.

I was also wowed by the latest group gift from LeLutka.  The Hadley skin comes in 5 tones with a wonderfully subtle makeup.  I really like the minimalist effect of this makeup and am getting ready to throw some lala's their way after this lovely sample.

Skin Fair Finds

I've been trying to do this post for days and finally finished some photos.  Modavia Productions is hosting the 3rd Skin Fair at Vanity Universe through March 6 and it's a great opportunity to check out new releases from many skin designers as well as pick up some nice gifts.  I can't begin to show all of the gifts here but I will show you a few of my favorites.  Right now it's fairly challenging to get onto the sim but there is still plenty of time.

The best thing I heard today is that Happy Finds is reopened.  Free*Style has blogged them in the past and I TP'ed there as soon as I got word.  Right now the group is free to join (don't expect that to last) and there are gifts in the notices as well as in the store along with a few great discounts.

I'm totally in love with the eye makeup included in (R E D) M I N T's gift.  The deep, deep blue show is topped with light shimmers and will be one I go back to again and again.

The gift from Your Skin & Your Shape is a fantastic skin that includes various hair base and cleavage layers. It's a nice, fresh face that should work well with makeup layers. Sin & Secrets Opening Dollarbie

Those of you that have been around SL for awhile are likely to recall Sin & Secrets.  I used to shop there a lot and I was tickled when designer, Leila Dix, sent me her the dollarbie dress for their new store opening.  I particularly like the textural details at the waistline and the fluttery effects of the skirt.  The color changing hairband on the hair which is D!va's 10 K member gift worked so well with it as did Nushru's little black garter.  The blue rose gave it the color accent I was looking for.  You can pick it up for only 1 L for a few more days at Snow Bunny.

Help!

My dear friend Kaitlin Peccable publishes Help! Magazine which is dedicated to providing tips and solutions to the challenges we all face in SL.  The issues are usually devoted to a theme that ranges the gamut from child avatars to blogging.  To celebrate the Valentine's Day, several designers have donated gifts to the Help! Magazine Group.  They range from clothing to discounts on photography and I am going to show you a few.

Aleida has offered the sumptuous Lilly Gown.  Deep red textures are accentuated with a black under layer provides elegant contrast and depth.  The gown includes a train of roses as well as a rose hair accessory which make the gown unique.  Best yet, the gown is transferable for gift giving.

The Sweet Bites cannoli makes me think of Sileny who is a big SL foodie.  Because of Sileny I now have a folder dedicated to food food and stuff.  The cannoli is adorable with its bit of whipped cream that ends up on your nose.  Also, Moskva & London has given the lovely Princess Puff earrings in two colors.  I love chandelier type earrings so these will be a favorite!
