Happy Valentine's Day!

Some people hate Valentine's Day but I like it because 1.I like pink and red 2.I like those chalky heart candy things and 3.It gives me an excuse to tell my friends I love them without sounding like a creeper.  I put together this outfit with some fun free, cheap and not free things for you today.  My tights, skin and hair are not free but they are from the Back to Black event which is really important to me.  The event is to promote awareness of mental health issues and you can find facts posted all over the venue as well as inside of purchased items.  My dress is from Cupcakes and is one of many lucky chair prizes.  Love this color!  My stockings are from Sleeping Koala and come in a version with fishnet in the open panels as well.

 I want to show a close-up of the contents of the cute little Valentine's gift from Deviant Girls.  Normally I don't like anything with a brand name on it but "Deviant Girls" is such a cool name I like this anyway. My lipstick kiss is a subscriber gift from Izzie's.  It comes in a few shades of pink and red to match your look.  My little mouth heart candy is from RezIpsa Loc and is only 5L per try in the gacha at the Love is in the Air event at the Cupcakes sim.  My hair is from Mina at Back to Black and comes with the matching hair bases as well.

My boots are not free or from Back to Black, lol, but they are a new release from A-Bomb and I adore this store so you get to see them anyway. :P

Finally, I want to say happy Valentine's day to everyone.  I firmly believe we have some of the best people as our readers and I adore you all!  We should all celebrate Valentine's day by spoiling ourselves with yummy treats in RL as well as SL!  Om nom nom.  You can grab this berries and cream set (with rez and wear options as well as a cute cookie I haven't shown) on the lucky board at Circa.  Live it up!

Hopefully y'all are checkin' the Free*Style group Notices on a regular, since you'll find some real gems in there. Case in point: our own Sileny tipping everybody off about the free Harry Potter wand at Mood (complete with a free set of 4 Hogwarts badges).

Here's how to assemble your own Hogwarts fan-person look on the cheap (check the Styling Credits below for deets):



1. Wear your fave jacket resembling something school uniform-y.

2. Add your free school crest of choice (I abdicated my true Gryffindor colors today + went with my secret Slytherin tendencies instead).

[2.5. Optional: If choosing Slytherin, or finding oneself in an evil/gloomy/cranky or similarly brooding mood, slip into the $1L runny mascara skin by The Body Boutique that I'm wearing here].

3. Add a striped tie or scarf (preferably in your Hogswarts school color; I envisioned Slyth's to be green, 'natch).

4. Add a schoolbag or backpack (if you don't have one, the $25L backpack at the massive 75% off sale at Coco's will do nicely; you'll find it upstairs, along with the other way marked down stuffs).

5. Grab a magical animal of some kind to accessorize (you can usually snag one for free at the Stray Pig lucky boards; these rabbits here are my cousin's, that I renamed Licorice and Morticia).

6. Wear your free wand + assume appropriate hoity-toity spell-casting pose.

7. Hey Presto, you're Hogswarts-ian!



(I will also take this opportunity to mention that perverted, made-up spells like Panties Vanishus! will not work, as vigorously attempted on yours truly, once upon a Halloween).

I have some fun colorful gifties for you today! This fun skirt from Hyper Culture is a gift for the addiction hunt and comes with a sweater also (not shown.) The belt is from Izzie's and comes in a whole bunch of colors! Win! The top is part of the riot vend set from Sn@tch. Several colors of the top are included as well as an adorable mini skirt and fishnet stockings for a low price of 45L (or 50L..I can't recall but either way it is LOW.)

The boots I am wearing are from Show Me on the Doll and while not free you can get a whole bunch of different colors and patterns in the tippy toe boot gacha machine for cheap! I wanted to share a close up of the other accessories. The pink nails/ring set is an item camp for subscribers of the U&R Dogs group. The blue nails/ring set is a hunt gift in store! Pretty easy to find if you keep a watch out for music, hehe. The green earrings are one of many colors in the gacha machine for 10L and I was lucky enough to get my favorite color on the first try!
