Sun, Surf and Turf

I have a mix of things today for you.  I found some mesh things in the Mesh Around hunt that could actually be mixed and matched (gasp!) so I had to share them.  This dress is one of two styles you get (in multiple sizes, of course) from Happy Undead in the hunt.  I discovered that this soft, green top from Ingenue went smoothly over it so I had to combine them.  There is a pink one too!

My nails are a hunt gift from Moondance and I'm sorry I couldn't get a great shot (still trying to figure out the viewer I need to use to get around the rezzing issues I'm having, sadly) but when you see them up close they have a sort of lacy-gem-gothic style texture on them.  My hair is the Moolto hunt prize from Catwa and it comes in a few shades of blonde.  There's a male hair style for the hunt too! 

The skin I am wearing is a new release from MiaSnow at the Skin Addiction event.  As soon as I showed the picture on Flickr people were out asking me where the skin was from.  It's such an unusual look, but it's so soft and serene.  It's photorealistic in some spots but not so much that you end up in creepy uncanny valley territory.  Cleavage, dimples, eyebrow options, everything.  it's not free but there IS a free set of freckles at the event!  My jewelry is new from Hate Me and Eat Me and is also not free but I love it!  Green is my fave color and the girl in me that was raised Catholic can't get enough crosses.

I Wanna Do Bad Things But Stay Comfy :P

I almost have my issues with rezzing and stuff figured out so I wanted to share some good stuff real quick with my lady avatar.  First off, Plausible Body is a store I have heard of but never been to.  I went finally and discovered lots of cute things, all of them set as pay-what-you-want.  What P.W.Y.W. means is that you decide what the items are worth to you, what you are willing to pay, what you have available to you.  Say you have a newbie friend who has very few Lindens or you are on an extremely strict budget; you could go to Plausible Body and pay a small amount.  Say you have a good budget and you love the items; you can go and pay the suggested price on the vendor photo or even higher.  I'm on the strict budget end right now so I wasn't able to pay a ton but I plan on paying a bunch on my next visit once I make some more Ls.  What you do is click the vendors and you'll receive the items, often in several colors.  Then you go to the pay box in the center of the store and pay what you can.  It's a great concept and I sincerely hope people don't take advantage of it in a negative way.

OK that was a lot of chatting, sorry. xD  I wanted to mention my cute shirt above.  I am super addicted to True Blood so when I saw this Do Bad Things shirt from Sn@tch for only 75L, which includes a whole bunch of other shirts too, I had to grab it as fast as I could.  I paired it with this completely fresh and innocent looking skin from the M.O.C.K. Cosmetics group gift for a bit of contrast.  I added some not free colorful tattoo makeup (not free) from Miss Shippe's, a 10L open mouth alpha from Adore&Abhor, and a side pony style (not free) from Alice Project, and a friendly pose above from Status to make it even more innocent seeming.  My eyes are one of three colors you can find as a subscriber gift from Skin Within.

OK I have no title, my brain no worky good today.  I have been having tons of problems rezzing items, changing clothing, etc. on my man av and haven't got to blog nearly enough.  I found I am able to take pics on my male alt though so that's great!  Well, sort of great since I don't take wonderful man pics BUT it helps to calm the blog bug at least.  Anyway, enough rambling.

This mesh jacket is a hunt gift from Kauna that I thought was pretty cool.  Every time you wear it the color changes and you have no control over that.  This time it was green and royal blue, another time it was purple and baby blue.  You never know!  While you can't exactly pre-plan an outfit around the jacket, it's fun to see what color you get each time.

Last Minute Post

  SL has been a total d**k to me the last several days and I have barely been able to get anything done.  I managed to sort of get a picture, small and cruddy as it may be, of some sale items from Cheap Makeup and PurpleMoon before their sales ended. 
  Cheap Makeup has everything at the store set to 40% off through the 19th.  This means you can get their already low priced makeup for ridiculous prices, like 15L a makeup and things like that.  They have things all the way from basic to wild and it really is possibly my fave tattoo makeup store so go check it out before it ends!

  The PurpleMoon sale ends on the 20th.  All the new release mesh items in the center area of the store are only 59L.  I got this great strapless dress and a pink vintage sweater but I really want to go back and grab some more!!

One Bad Pixel Girl

There is a new mesh clothing store out called One Bad Pixel.  The items are brand new, all original, creations from two seasoned SL creators.  The items are very well made and quite sexy.  To get you into the shop they have these awesome pants as a subscriber welcome gift.

My hair is from Alice Project and is currently 75% off through the 30th of April.  *All* the hair is 75% off, actually.  The color packs (with a few exceptions) for all the mesh hairs start at only 50L!!  I grabbed quite a few styles and plan on going back for more.  Speaking of sales, you can grab this skin from MiaSnow for only 100L.  ALL of the skins for MALE and FEMALE upstairs are only 100L per FATPACK.  Yes, I said fatpack.  100L. I Know That You Want the Candy

Happy Easter to all who celebrate it!  I for one am looking forward to the Easter feaster my mom always makes today.  I can't wait to bring my daughter over there and hunt for eggs and such.  And, of course, I can't wait for candy.  Om nom nom.

Pierced and Fierce

Just a head shot for you today.  I usually do shots from the waist up and here is my secret: I do from the waist up 1. to show better detail on the face/accessories/etc. because it's closer and I am too lazy to take a far away and a close-up for one post and 2. it means I don't have to wear shoes or pants or anything. LOL.  Now you know. :P 

My piercings are one of the current hunt gifts from Phoebe's Piercings.  It's really fun with the tiny little dangling skull and is mod to fit your face.  There are unisex hunt gifts in the store so the boys should check it out too.  My hair is one of several colors in the April Action Hair VIP group (250L join fee) and I love this store because they give so many gifts and they are always lovely.  My skin is by me, lol, for the Adore&Abhor VIP group (50L join fee.)  My eyes are from Banana Banshee for Wear Gray and there are lots of colors available. The event is a charity event and is one of the few events that I know are totally legit donation wise so make sure to check it out. I was looking around Marketplace out of boredom the other day and I stumbled across this pretty cheapie shirt and neck scarf combo.  I'm all about finding new places for meshy goodness so I thought I would share this.  Plus, hey, pink and hearts for the win!  I like the sort of innocent feel of the pattern and higher collar with the naughty cropped bottom and I thought wearing the hair bridle from Hate Me and Eat Me with it would add that extra sauciness to it.  My skin was a hunt gift from The Skin You're In and unfortunately it doesn't appear to be available any longer.  There are, however, other hunt gifts and MM boards, etc. in the store so check it out.

Pink Plus Green Equals Win

One of my all time favorite color combinations is definitely pink and green, especially in very bright versions like this.  Torley got something right! 

My eye makeup is from Boom and is only a whopping 1L and it comes with lashes and no lashes options.  My piercings are from Phoebe's Piercings & More, a new to me store, and I think they are well made.  They are modifiable so you can easily get the fit you want if your lip shape is more on the extreme end.  They are a group gift for the Feebs Neko Mall.  My skin is from Sn@tch and I adore this face!  I have to warn you though that the body is totally cray-cray crazy!  The boobs are eyeballs! LOL!  Totally fun for spooky pictures or regular pretty photos if you cover them up.  The top I am wearing is part of a super fun outfit from Vaughan's House of Curiosities and is not free BUT it is a 100% charity donation item at Fashion For Life HERE. Gifties and More Charity Gownage!

Gownage isn't a word, I know. Just a little mix and match look for you today before I go back to enjoying my lovely, rainy Sunday.  Anyone but me just love cloudy, slightly gloomy, but still warmish days?  Love them.  Anyway, my outfit is from Sn@tch.  The ivory-colored over shirt is part of a dress that you can win from the lucky boards in several colors.  My shirt and shorts are part of a set of about a zillion pieces (including roller skate sneakers and a skating AO!) that you can win in the 7Seas fishing pond** next to the lucky board.  My bag is a group gift from Tee*fy in store and it's mesh and so cute and also includes a larger shoulder style bag.

**Note about 7Seas fishing:
To use the 7Seas fishing system *and* win all prizes you must purchase a pro rod (it's around 250L or something like that I think) and use bait (30L for 100 pieces.)  The fishing rod then can be used at any location that has 7Seas fishing and you don't ever have to purchase another rod, just bait when you run out.  There are a zillion places that allow 7Seas fishing so it's very worth the cost.

Vroom

I wanted to run in quick to share these fun shoes that are a group gift from Ladies Who Lunch.  Oftentimes people will call their store's style "avant garde" when really they just put random prims all over and make a mess of something and...yeah; LWL, however, *is* always ahead of the time, making glamorous pieces, and sometimes even makes things that are fun, good quality and unique.  These shoes are a little more on the silly/quirky side, as opposed to their usual high fashion style, and that's what I love about this.  Taking a moment away from the serious and doing something fun is why I adore SL in general.  Gimme all the cupcake things, please! LOL.
